GATTACA

Sci-fi movie poster Gattaca taped to my dorm room wall. I took this photo on August 29, which was my first night at UMD. This may seem like an unspectacular photo, but Gattaca is one of my favorite all-time movies. I was feeling quite uncertain and a little lonely that first night, and this Gattaca poster just gave me some hope. The tagline of the movie is that “There is no gene for the human spirit.” This is something I thought of throughout the semester to help get me through: COVID is tough, but our human spirit can help us come together and guide us to better days.
